Ivar Jacobson has written one of the first books to apply object-oriented techniques to the whole software life cycle. It describes ObjectOry-a complete development environment created by the author-for the development of large software systems with an object-oriented approach. The book relies on three independently developed techniques-all three carrying the major characteristics of object-orientation: data abstraction, encapsulating inheritance, and polymorphism.
