About the Author(s)

FREDERICK C. MILITELLO, JR. is Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of FinQuest Partners LLC, a New York-based firm offering corporate financial consulting, investment banking services, and corporate training on a wide range of financial and business topics. He has consulted to leaders in many industries, including Apple Computer, Georgia-Pacific, Gillette, Johnson & Johnson, Mead, Northwest Airlines, National Semiconductor, and Warner-Lambert. As Managing Director for Chase Manhattan's Merchant Banking and Treasury Management Groups, he advised and assisted hundreds of corporations in improving their global fund raising and financial risk management strategies.

For the past decade, he has served as an adjunct professor of international business at New York University's Leonard N. Stern Graduate School of Business. He is also is a regular speaker at international business conferences sponsored by Financial Executives International, the American Management Association, the Canadian Management Association, Management Centre Europe, and other leading organizations.

His books include The Empowered Organization: Redefining the Roles and Practices of Finance and Foreign Exchange Risk Management: A Survey of Corporate Practices (both with Henry A. Davis); and A Strategic Role for Treasury.

DR. MICHAEL D. SCHWALBERG is a psychologist at Hudson Valley Psychology Associates, specializes in providing consulting and coaching services to executives. He has worked with executives from many of the world's leading organizations, including American Express, Banco Popular, Bristol-Myers-Squibb, and Unilever.

Dr. Schwalberg graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University, received his doctorate in psychology from the State University of New York at Albany, and interned at Brown University. He has worked on research projects at Brown University, The State University of New York at Albany, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and The New York Hospital - Cornell Medical Center. He was commissioned by the Financial Executive Research Foundation to study emotional intelligence and associated leadership competencies as they relate to financial executives. This research culminated in the co-authorship of this book.
